PSA / BREAKING NEWS: Hurricane Florence Possibly Heading Into North Georgia; Extended Power Outages & Flooding Possible

UPDATE: 9am Saturday Sept 2018 ~ Looks like we are dodging the bulk of threat on this one, and the North Georgia Mtns will be spared.  Thinking of and praying for our neighbors in NC & SC.  Some lives have been forever changed.  Every day is a good day to be thankful for what you have, and to think on the things that are important in life.  I will archive this story shortly.

PSA / BREAKING NEWS: Hurricane Florence is changing track after making landfall. It is moving inland in a path more likely to bring it closer to North Georgia/Atlanta. We’ll have massive rain and wind if it comes this way. Areas like Big Canoe are booking up rentals and we are going to have a huge influx of visitors similar to the big Florida hurricanes – when people leave the coastal areas and flee to safer ground. Marble Hill, Jasper, Dawsonville areas could see much larger crowds at grocery stores etc. We could also possibly get power outages. This is going to impact a Huge Multi-State area and if power goes out, it may take a while to get restored.

Get food, backup batteries, candles etc. Basically – get your emergency items up to par. If the inland track brings this storm here – we are going to have a double problem….

1) We’re going to have a lot of people piling into the area as they flee the coasts

2) Power outages may further strain that if they occur.

Keep an eye on this…. get ready. Now.

Peace,
– david
